Priest: Deliver us, Lord, from every evil, and grant us peace in our day. In Your mercy
keep us free from sin and protect us from all anxiety as we wait in joyful hope for the coming of
our Savior, Jesus Christ.
All: For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are Yours, now and forever.
Priest: Lord Jesus Christ, You said to Your apostles: I leave You peace,
my peace I give You. Look not on our sins, but on the faith of Your Church,
and grant us the peace and unity of Your kingdom where You live for ever and ever.
All: Amen.
Priest: The Peace of the Lord be with you always.
All: And also with you.
Priest: Let us offer each other a sign of peace.
Sign of Peace:
All: Lamb of God, You take away the sins of the world: have mercy on us.
Lamb of God, You take away the sins of the world: have mercy on us.
Lamb of God, You take away the sins of the world: grant us peace. [kneel]
Priest:
This is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Happy are those who are called to his supper.
All: Lord, I am not worthy to receive You,
but only say the word and I shall be healed.
To which God promises that His response shall always be:
You have My word.
As He said, He is the antidote. So, every time we receive the Holy Eucharist,
we get healed of our sins that are poisoning us and become more like Him,
who is our Peace. On an even higher level, when we eat his flesh and blood,
and accept Him wholeheartedly, He becomes our flesh and blood. He is our “I
am”. This is what spiritual marriage is.
